Established in 2006 NFRC’s UKAS accredited Competent Person Scheme (CPS) is the only dedicated competent person scheme for the roofing sector in England and Wales.

The government’s CPS framework allows roofing contractors to self-certify that their work complies with Building Regulations. This saves clients time and money, as they would otherwise have to arrange a Building Control inspection to get notifiable work approved.
The Regulations require that if more than 50% of a roof is being replaced the work will need to be notified to the local building inspectorate prior to commencing work and upon completion an inspection and building compliance certificate is required. If this is not completed the house holder may be subject to a building compliance fine.
The usual cost for this work from the local building inspector would be in the region of £200-£400.
Because TRG – The Roof Group are one of only a handful of accredited and assessed under the Competent Person Scheme (CPS) within the South-West we, can provide the building compliance to meet the building regulations for you.
